Berries, Berries, Berries!! : One reason to love the Pacific Northwest

I love living in Washington State for many reasons. I live in the not so green area, but I still get to reap many benefits, including the gorgeous, tasty, perfect berry harvests of Washington and Oregon. My family has been berry binging since Dale from Deer Island Farms brought his incredible Shuksan strawberries around (see http://www.thecookbookchronicles.com/blog/?p=1218). These strawberries only have a three week season and a 24 hour shelf life- so we kind of have to gorge!

He also came with raspberries, which are probably my personal favorite berry.

So, if you happen to be in the area at all, check out Deer Island Farms (I apologize for no link- I’m not sure there is a website, but you can find a number if you Google).  You might be lucky enough to have him coming to your area and have yourself your own summer celebration of tastiness!! Thanks Dale!
